In England and Wales, Notaries are largely concerned with the verification of :-

• Documents and information that will be used in other countries throughout the World
• Clients who have business or property overseas
• Clients who are involved in litigation in foreign Courts.

Although almost all Notaries are Solicitors, they form an independent branch of the legal profession and their practice is not controlled by the rules affecting Solicitors.

The work is, however, governed by The Notaries Society and it is generally found that all Notaries throughout the UK charge the same rate, which avoids the need to 'shop around' at a time when you need to get an issue resolved quickly.

So whether you have business dealings abroad or simply have a holiday home overseas, you may need to use the services of a Notary Public.

The extent of a Notaries work can vary from the formulation of documents to be used in overseas matters to the legal verification of a document already prepared.
